The two most popular Asparagus Ferns (Asparagus plumosus and Asparagus densiflorus sprengeri) are grown for their beautiful and graceful foliage, which is often used in flower arrangements. Not ferns at all, these plants get their name from their fern-like appearance: light and airy and with lots of green leaves which are really needle-like branches.
Medium to bright, also sunny; tolerates low light for short periods.
Keep evenly and slightly damp, but avoid water-logging; water less in winter; in warm locations mist occasionally; in growing season, feed with all-purpose fertilizer.
Needles turn yellow and drop if the plant is kept too wet or too dry or moved suddenly to low light.
Shape, color and size of plants may vary slightly.
